OKEFORD FITZPAINE PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES OF THE A.G.M.OF OKEFORD FITZPAINE HELD ON
AT THE PAVILION ON TUESDAY 5th MAY 2009


Present: - Cllr M Burt Cllr E Horton
Cllr R Corben Cllr A Frampton
Cllr M Paine

Also present: Cllr Mrs A Burch, Mrs R Burrows (Clerk), (Members of the public): Mrs A Calcott, Mr Brian Gillingham, Mrs Beth Fox, Mr Rob Loving, Mr Mike Wood.

1. APOLOGIES: Cllrs Mrs H Cox, S Corben (working).

2. ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN:
The Chairman called for nominations. Cllr Corben proposed and Cllr E Horton seconded Cllr M Burt. There were no other nominations. Cllr M Burt was duly elected for the coming year.

3. ELECTION OF VICE CHAIRMAN:
The Chairman called for nominations. Cllr Paine proposed and Cllr Corben seconded Cllr Horton. There were no other nominations. Cllr Horton was duly elected for the coming year.

4. CO-OPTION TO FILL CASUAL VACANCY
There had been two applications from residents to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Tim Burt earlier in the year. These were Mike Wood and Beth Fox who had both submitted background information on themselves which was circulated prior to the start of the meeting. Both also addressed the meeting to further support their applications. Cllr Corben said he would find it difficult to have to decide tonight and thought further time should be taken to consider the applicants. It was proposed by Cllr Paine and seconded by Cllr Frampton that a vote is taken this evening. 4 in favour and one against, so proposition was carried. Mrs Beth Fox was duly co-opted to serve as councillor. The Chairman thanked Mike Wood for his interest and was sorry there was only one vacancy to fill.

5. COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE’S TO OTHER BODIES
Village Hall Management Committee – Cllr Horton proposed and Cllr Corben seconded Cllr Burt
DAPTC – Cllr Corben proposed and Cllr Paine seconded Cllr Burt & Cllr Horton.
Poor Lands Charity Committee – Cllr Paine proposed and Cllr Burt seconded Cllrs Frampton and R Corben
DAPTC representative to NDDC Standards Committee – Cllr Burt proposed and Cllr Frampton
seconded Cllr Horton.
All of the above were agreed.

6. OTHER REPRESENTATIVES
Home Watch co-ordinator – Mr M Wood
Rights of Way Liaison/Footpath Officer – Cllr Paine
Youth Club – Mrs A Calcott
Football Club – Cllr S Corben
Local Public Transport – Mrs A Calcott
Cllr Horton proposed and Cllr Burt seconded that all of the above be elected en bloc, this was agreed.

There being no further business proper to the AGM, the Chairman closed the meeting at 8.00pm
