Oak Tree Pre-School The Oak Tree Pre-school is located on the grounds of Okeford Fitzpaine C of E VA Primary School in a port-a-cabin with a garden allowing the children to safely free-flow from one environment to another. The Oak Tree Pre-school is a registered charity, run by a parent committee and we welcome children from two years to five years old. The Pre-school is registered with OFSTED for full day care during term time. Our Aim is: To enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age in a parent-involving, community-based group. To provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment. To work within the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework, this ensures equality of opportunity for all children and families. To build confidence and expand your children's horizons as they take their first steps towards independence. We off your child: A specially tailored curriculum leading to approved learning outcomes. Individual care and attention made possible by a high ratio of adults to children. Fun and friendship with children and other adults. The support of a personal key worker. All staff undergo regular CRB and safer recruitment checks. There is always a qualified first aider working on site who holds an up to date paediatric first aid certificate. Opportunities for you and your family to be directly involved in the activities of the group and in your own child's progress. Our Pre-school is open... Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:00am to 3:00pm and Friday mornings 9:00am to 12:00pm. A parent and toddler group runs within the playgroup session on Friday mornings from 9:30am to 11:30am. Children can start at the age of two years. We currently charge according to the number of sessions and lunch clubs a child attends. Our sessional rate is the equivalent amount that children receive when they qualify for a nursery grant as we accept nursery grants as payment for 3-5 year olds. Curriculum: Within the group, all children are supported in developing their potential at their own pace. Our key worker system enables us to ensure a planned curriculum tailored to the needs of each individual child according the EYFS statutory framwork. By means of developmentally appropriate play activities and a high level of individual adult input, we offer a curriculum which leads to nationally approved learning outcomes and prepares children to progress with confidence to school. We have been inspected by OFSTED with excellent reports that are available on request for parents to see. The Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework ensures there is continuity in a child's development from 0 to 5. The Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework is organised into 6 areas of learning: Personal, social & emotional development; Communicaton, language & literacy; Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy; Knowledge & understanding of the world; Physical development; Creative development; We work closely with the primary school and pre-school children visit on a regular basis. The children spend time with the reception teacher, becoming part of the school network watching the older children's school play and joining the whole school on a weekly basis at assemblies. This closeness enable the transition from pre-school to primary school become a natural progression as the children become familiar with their new suroundings and establish a firm relationship with their new teacher. Why not come along and visit us. |
