FIPPENNY GARDEN CLUB We are a small, friendly club of approximately 60 people who meet (usually) on the first Monday of each month, at 7:30 p.m. in the Village Hall. Our meetings are always a very sociable occasion with tea and biscuits, a raffle, regular competitions and, of course, a speaker. The talks are varied, ranging from the experience of building a prize-winning garden at Chelsea, to experts on all kinds of plants and problems in our own gardens. Although a gardening theme is normal , we have other interesting talks on occasion. We have been fortunate in having very good speakers over the years, including excellent ones from The Gold Club, which is run by Castle Gardens Garden Centre of Sherborne. In addition we have an annual trip to Castle Gardens, and a summer outing. Our AGM is combined with a Cheese and Wine evening and there is always a dinner before Christmas. July 2009 marked our 22nd Annual Show, which was more popular than ever due to the new allotments that are being cultivated in the village. New members and visitors are always welcome. If you are interested please ring - Jean Durrant, Chairman 01258 860565 Marilyn Berry, Secretary 01258 860656 (Annual subscription 2009 - £5.00. Visitors - £1.00)
